With love for everything with wheels, Marcel & Esther are the dedicated owners of this home-based shop in De Pijp in Amsterdam. While drinking the best home brewed coffee you've tasted, you can see and try the rollerskates that you've always wanted, right at their kitchen table.

Marylou is a roller dance choreographer and teacher with the Roller Dance Crew. She’s also the co-founder of Head Over Wheels, a roller dance crew and event agency.
Driven by a constant desire for growth and self-improvement, Marylou has spent years immersed in the roller dance scene in Paris. Now based in Amsterdam, she’s eager to share her passion and expertise with skaters in search of their perfect pair of skates!
OUR STORY
Marylou & Athénaïs are the dedicated owners of this home-based service in Amsterdam.
Both from Paris, they met a few years ago and instantly clicked over their love for roller skating, performing, and dancing. Since then, they’ve been inseparable, sharing countless skating adventures across Europe. Taking over GingerSkates felt like the natural next step in their journey together.
GingerSkate’s custom roller skate service was born in 2016 out of Esther and Marcel’s love for skating. Now, Marylou and Athénaïs are honored to carry the torch, keeping the spirit of GingerSkate alive and thriving.

​Athénaïs spent over a decade immersed in ballet before discovering roller quad dance 6 years ago. Since then, she’s been blending her ballet background with her love for roller skating, constantly pushing herself to learn new tricks and techniques from fellow skaters.
With her quality engineering background, Athénaïs has a keen eye for detail and will help you find the pair of skates for your next adventure!

Ginger skates is best reached by foot or bike. Car parking spots are available in the street and surrounding area but can be rare and parking is expensive.
